Pakistan First Lady: President Asif Ali Zardari has decided to make his daughter Asifa Bhutto Zardari the first lady. According to the People’s Party, President Asif Zardari will officially declare Asifa Bhutto as the first lady. Asifa Bhutto will also get the First Lady protocol, after which she will be the first First Lady of Pakistan who is the daughter of the President.
According to Geo TV, usually the wife gets the status of first lady, but in Pakistan the daughter is being given the status of first lady. Asifa Bhutto campaigned for the People’s Party across the country for the general elections on 8 February and supported her brother Bilawal Bhutto Zardari. Born on February 3, 1993, Asifa Bhutto Zardari is part of the political family of the People’s Party, one of the largest political parties in Pakistan. Asifa is the youngest daughter of Asif Ali Zardari.
Daughter in Pakistan will become the country’s first lady
Geo TV reported that Asifa Bhutto is the younger sister of Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and Bakhtawar Bhutto Zardari, she is the granddaughter of Pakistan Peoples Party founder Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto and Nusrat Bhutto of Iranian origin, and the niece of Shahnawaz Bhutto and Murtaza Bhutto. Asifa remained closest to her father, during her jail days and during court appearances, she was always seen in Asif Ali Zardari’s lap.
Asifa was walking arm in arm with her father during the swearing-in ceremony held at Rashtrapati Bhavan yesterday. Asif Ali Zardari has taken oath of office as the 14th President of Pakistan. Asif Ali got a total of 255 votes in both the houses. Apart from this, he also got a huge majority in three out of the four provinces of Pakistan and in the end Zardari won the presidential election by securing 411 votes. Whereas, his opponent got only 181 votes.
Asif Ali Zardari has been in jail for 11 years
Asif Ali Zardari is the husband of former Prime Minister of Pakistan Benazir Bhutto. After the fall of Benazir’s government, cases were registered against Asif Ali Zardari under serious sections, after which he had to remain in jail for about 11 years. Although Asif Ali was not convicted of any crime, he has now become the President of Pakistan for the second time. Before this, Asif Ali Zardari was the 11th President of Pakistan between 2008 and 2013.
